    Line editing is a detailed editing process that focuses on the flow, style, and clarity of your writing. It goes line by line to refine sentence structure, word choice, tone, and rhythm. Unlike copyediting, it looks at how the writing reads, not just how it’s written.

  • Copyediting

    Copyediting focuses on correcting grammar, punctuation, spelling, and consistency. It ensures your writing is technically accurate, follows style guidelines, and is free from errors or inconsistencies.

  • Proofreading

    Proofreading is the final check before publication. It catches any remaining typos, punctuation errors, or formatting issues that may have slipped through earlier edits.

Editing Process

  • Reading

    First, I read your manuscript, while making notes. I do this to get a feel for the book and to make sure my edits carry through the story.

  • Review

    Once the first read is done, I go through your manuscript in more detail, based on the editing service you have requested.

  • Editing

    The third step is when I start editing your manuscript, based on the service you have requested. I can either edit within your document directly, or write a report.

  • Report

    Depending on the service you have requested, I will write a report on your manuscript and deliver it to you with comments and suggestions.

  • Discussion

    Again, depending on the service you have requested, we can discuss my edits and you can ask any questions you might have.

  • Further Edits

    Each editing service is separate. If you would like a further editing service, please purchase the next service on my website.

More Information

I offer editing services for English manuscripts. If you require shortform editing, please mention that when you fill out the form below.

For a limited time, I am offering a reduced rate for authors located in Germany. Proof of residency must be provided prior to me acceting the project at the reduced rate.

Payment will be required in full prior to me starting the work. Editing takes time, and depending on my workload, I aim to have the projects finalised within 3-4 weeks, but this can be stretched out to 6 weeks, if the manuscript is lengthy, or needs quite a bit of work. If you require a faster turnaround, please let me know in the form.
